Project Goal
The overall objective of this project is to support sustainable livelihoods and protection for IDPs, returnees and resident communities in Jonglei and Eastern Equatoria states of South Sudan. The project focus will be in improving food security, natural resource management and sustainable livelihoods of vulnerable communities, promoting sustainable peace through strengthening the local capacities for peaceful coexistence and conflict mitigation, and lastly, strengthening capacity of partners to support local development initiatives.
Objectives
Objective 1: Improved food security, natural resource management and sustainable livelihoods of vulnerable communities
Outcomes:
- Increased and diversified food production
- Increased household income
- Households adopting environmental conservation technologies and improved farming practices
Objective 2: Promote sustainable peace through strengthening the local capacities for peaceful coexistence and conflict mitigation
Outcomes:
- Improved quality of dialogue and implementation of resolutions on conflict mitigation
- Reduction in reported cases of conflict incidents among the communities
- Increased community involvement in peace awareness campaigns and activities.
Objective 3: Strengthened capacity of partners to support local development initiatives
Outcomes:
- CDSS staff knowledgeable on PRA, HAP, PCM andDRR
- Partner’s reports are timely and documents the outcomes and impact monitoring
- Partners adopting transparent procurement procedures and project inputs are delivered and distributed in time
